Check out this link below if you’re thinking about to upgrade your computer’s ram. Why should you Upgrade Your PC’s RAM ? I made this post quite a long because I want you to clarify about your correct ram usage and this will also let you know about how much ram do you really need for yourself. So, here’s a content list below which I’m listed with the topics headlines to give you a short knowing about what you’re going to read for your ram consumption usage in this post. Content List 1# – Solved a myth about “More Ram = More Performance”. 2# – Ram in different devices like Smart Phones, Graphic Card or Laptop. 3# – Explained about ram working to know, what your computer’s ram does and that will definitely make you able to find your computer’s ram consumption. 4# – Gives you suggestion about how much ram do you need for your Smart Phone or Tablet. 5# – Gives you suggestion about how much ram do you need for your Laptop & Desktop. 6# – Gives you suggestion about how much graphic ram do you need for your Graphic card. 7# – What’s does other things matters besides ram size.
1# A myth
Some people thinks having a heavy amount of ram in our devices motherboard can speed up our user interference performance to another level and if you’re one of them, then it’s all wrong and you’re living your life with just a myth. Maybe adding a ram can also make a huge effect on your computer’s performance but that’s only gonna happens when your computer needs some more ram to work with it or to run all the tasks properly and frequently by itself.
2# Ram in different devices –
Nowadays everything in computer category become so smart and because of that, we need more & more ram to work with our devices like phones, tablet or laptop. Ram is so important now in these devices because it will let you do multitasking and also make your device to run heavy programs. So, stay continue with this article and you will definitely gonna learn about how much ram is enough for you in your devices.
3# Ram working (Fully explained according to this topic) –
The main work of a ram is to remember all the running background programs process for the processor to make a quick contact in between them and that will make our computer, tablet or smartphone to response accurate and quicker. In the graphic cards, you can find the fixed or un-upgradable memory available in all the models and that ram is also called graphic memory to store graphic data like shades or pixels in it. In a normal language, a motherboard of any device uses its ram to remember all the currently running programs on it and that makes your operating system to don’t stop that previously running tasks and that will help our computer or phone to do multitasking. For Phone, Laptop & Desktop – Running more or more program at a time can eat up your devices ram for that particular time to do some multitasking or I say running a couple or more programs on it. If your computer or phone won’t able to fulfill that amount of ram memory to the processor to store its temporary process files into it then its 100% possible for your system to get lag or handed while working. Every running program on your computer can take some of your ram space to make itself in a running position and that’s why we have so many options to choose in the ram sizing. So, a higher size of ram can speed up your computer or phone only if your operating system is needed to run or remember multiple programs in that period of time. Let’s gives you a real life example what I’m recently tested in a while on my two computer system and I also do this test with phone or tablet to see the difference too and the results are same with all different types of devices so, let’s have a look. Example 1 – I’m having two computers with the same configuration but a different size of ram in it and the first one with the 2 GB of ram and the another one with the 8 GB of ram. So, I start the both computer at the same time to see the difference and you know what I’ve found, it’s nothing or I say maybe a minor millisecond difference on my operating system’s startup. So I continued my test to see what the real difference it is, after that I opened some same programs like media player or something to see the difference at 2nd time but still can’t find any, but the performance only stays same only for a while like when I run some 5 or 6 more programs on it the first one with the 2gb of ram gets hanged because the ram limits got reached to the top and the other one works just perfect. So, it’s all about the ram size on your device to manage the running programs what I’ve all previously mentioned above in this post. I use the word temporary for stored process data in a system’s ram because ram can only store temporary data in it and it will be definitely erased when you shut down your computer. These temporary files which are stored by your ram can only contain those files which your computer needs to remember for that program to run its process in a live running status. I means there are some files which your OS get stored in our system’s ram when we starts a software or a process on your computer and that stored files will help your processor to know about the process is still running in the background or in front meanwhile if you’re using or working with some other app or program, it’s like playing some music in the background while you’re working on the internet browser and your computer still knows and continue to play that music at background because of that music players program files was stored in your ram and tells your computer to play that music until it gets finish or a user stops it. This will allow multitasking on your computer and you can test your computer by run some software one by one at the same time until your computer gets hanged or your system’s ram got fully utilized in the task manager usage graph. For Graphic Cards – Now days graphic card is like a pretty good computer inside your computer which have their own GPU (graphic processing unit) and Ram Memory (graphic memory) to handle all graphical workload on your computer and that’s why when we’re selecting a graphic card, it’s so important to know about how much graphical ram did you need for your system. The concept what we choose here to find our graphical memory or ram usage is, what you gonna play with your graphic card on which size of monitor screen (resolution). Yes, that means high graphic games on high-resolution screen needs more graphical ram in order to play that game smoothly or otherwise it will get lag.
4# Ram suggestion for Phones or Tablet –
4 GB of ram is enough for a normal person who uses simple apps like calling or texting. 6 GB of ram is enough for a person who would like to do some multitasking on our phone like running Facebook and Whatsapp in the background or open some multi-tab in chrome. 12 GB is enough for a person who wanted to do hardcore gaming and heavy multitasking on our phone or tablet.
5# Ram suggestion for Laptop & desktop –
6# Graphical Ram suggestion for Graphic card –
Graphics card memory is available in two ram types and which are DDR3 or DDR5 and the main thing is bandwidth just remember one thing the better bandwidth you have, the better performance you got. It just like GDDR5 memory provides twice the bandwidth of DDR3 at the same clock rate.
7# Beside the size of a Ram –
Besides the size of your ram, there are lots of things which do matters for your system’s performance and it’s like, what type of ram did your device is having in it or what’s your device ram clock speed etc. So let’s talk about something like Ram types and its clock speed. There are a lot of types of ram in the computers history but there are only 5 types of ram what you gonna heard about in now these days and It’s like DDR1, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4, or DDR5 (DDR5 Is Only Available in Graphic Card). The main different between in all these types of DDR’s ram is speed and we determine that speed by its clock speed which is fully responsible for how fast your ram can work. There is lots of speed difference in between these different types of ram as you can see in the given picture below.
